In the life of Imperials, an enormous role is played by religion, their world is full of sinners and martyrs, heretics and saints. Legions of the Empire are tempered in the flames of endless wars, and the prayers of priests, the healing power of Grypharims is capable of returning even dying back in line.
Cataclysm and the ensuing civil war nearly destroyed one of the world’s greatest countries. Hunger and destruction led to riots, which turned into a civil war. The capital was burnt, the emperor was killed, and the desperate people tore up the head of the church.
The empire was saved by Roland the Proud, a renowned commander who returned from exile in the name of his country’s salvation. Roland declared himself the protector of baby Demian, the last legitimate descendant of the ruling dynasty. He gathered around himself only knights loyal to the throne and defeated the usurper who occupied the capital.
Reliable allies of Roland became Grypharims – winged creatures, who were forced to flee their home world. The Queen of Grypharims, Zenobia, was impressed by Roland’s devotion to the baby emperor, and offered him the support of her people. Fighting together, the soldiers of Roland and the Grypharims managed to return peace and order to the Empire.
Pontifex Conrad, the new head of the church, was dissatisfied with the alliance with non-humans. He intended to execute Queen Zenobia and give custody of the emperor to the church. Only the intervention of the Templars forced the pontiff to abandon his plans.
The country, which became a home for the two peoples, was given a new name – the Holy Grypharim Empire.
